Puerto Rico won the Gold in Gurabo. The host of U17 CentroBasket cruised past Mexico 90-75 in the Finals to win the first place. Of course Silver belongs to Mexico. Both teams booked a spot for the 2012 FIBA Americas Championship U18. Abdiel Badillo (193-F-94) was a key player in victory with 27 points and 13 rebounds. He reached valuation 29 and was the MVP of this meeting. Jerome Caraballo (95) had 14 pts and 13 rebs, while Esteban Cordero (94) added 13 points in this victory. In the loosing squad, Jose Estrada (94) shined with 28 points and 6 rebounds. Raul Frutos (94) (7 rebs) and Miguel Ramirez (94) (6 rebs) netted 12 points each. Quarters: 7-31, 24-25, 15-10, 29-24.

US Virgin Islands grabbed 86-83 thriller win against Bahamas in the last day of U17 CentroBasket in Gurabo. Thanks to this victory US Virgin Island won the Bronze at this event. They also booked a spot for the next U18 FIBA Americas Championship. Bahamas ended as No.4 and stay without the medal. They also failed to reach FIBA Americas. Rasheed Swanston (95) shined for the winners with 32 points and 11 rebounds. Khalid Hart (95) had 28 pts, 7 rebs and 6 assists, while Kareem Harris (94) added 12 points in this victory. In the loosing squad, Khristen Francis (95) collected 19 points and 5 rebounds. Lourawls Nairn (95) had 18 points and 8 rebs, while Adney Bethel (94) added 14 pts in this loss. Quarters: 33-14, 11-25, 14-20, 17-16, 11-8.

Dominican Republic - Belize 85-81
Dominican Republic outplayed Belize 85-81 in the last day of the championship in Gurabo. It was a game for the fifth place at U17 CentroBasket. Of course, Belize ended as No.6. Both teams failed to book a spot for the next U18 FIBA Americas Championship. Karl-Anthony Towns (96) led the winners with 28 points and 8 rebounds. Brandone Francis (95) added 17 points, 6 rebs and 6 assists, while Adonis Gonzalez (95) followed with 12 pts and 8 boards. On the other side, Devin Daly (188-F-95) shined in defeat with 34 points and 12 rebounds. Tariq Middleton (178-G-95) had 24 pts and 6 rebs. Quarters: 13-19, 32-21, 15-12, 25-29. Puerto Rico is the winner of U17 CentroBasket in Gurabo.

Panama - British Virgin Islands 79-81 OT2
British Virgin Islands celebrated in the last day of the competition in Gurabo. It was a game for the seventh place at U17 Centrobasket and British Virgin Islands grabbed 81-79 thriller win against Panama. It was a game with two overtimes. Panama finished as the last ranked team in Gurabo. Shakiel Humphrey (95) led the winners with 27 points and 8 rebounds. Ryan Alfred (95) had 23 points and 12 rebs, while Reavaun Garraway (95) added 12 points, 10 boards, and 9 assists. In Panama, Abid Oses (F/C-95) collected 26 points and 9 rebs. Pablo Rivas (95) also was good as he added 20 pts and 19 rebs. Quarters: 15-20, 12-11, 21-16, 18-19, 13-15. Puerto Rico won the Gold in Gurabo. Mexico and US Virgin Islands also booked a ticket for U18 FIBA Americans Championship 2012.
