Mexico registered a comfortable 21:8 lead ten minutes into the game. They extended the margin at 25-point mark heading into the final term. Guyana narrowed the gap in the fourth period but could not avoid the defeat. Javier Gonzalez (190-F-00) tossed in 15 points in the victory. Kevon Wiggins (182-PG-00) netted 22 points for Guyana. Bahamas - Puerto Rico 75-83 Puerto Rico overcame Bahamas to finish the preliminary round undefeated. Jorge Torres (195-F/G-00) produced 22 points and 15 rebounds in the victory. Puerto Rico eked out a 39:37 halftime lead. They went on a 24:16 run in the third quarter to clear off for good. Jeriel Zayas (185-G-00) dropped 18 points for the winners. Dominick Bridgewater (180-PG-00) responded with game-high 31 points and 8 rebounds for Bahamas. Group BDominican Republic - Jamaica 71-46Dominican Republic topped Jamaica to earn the third consecutive win in Santo Domingo. Alanzo Frink (203-F-00) delivered 16 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Dominican Republic accumulated a 37:23 halftime lead. They stretched the margin at 25-point mark heading into the fourth quarter and never looked back en route to the win. Yasson Nunez (195-SF-00) had 9 points in the victory. Daimar Dyall-Richards (200-F-01) responded with 12 points for Jamaica. Panama - U.S. Virgin Islands 89-62 Panama coasted past Virgin Islands to ensure the semifinal birth. Jesus Lombardo (192-C-00) dropped 19 points and pulled down 10 rebounds to lead the winning side. Virgin Islands posted a 17:15 lead after ten minutes. But Panama stepped on the gas in the second frame. They sank 25 points to secure a 40:34 halftime lead. Panama added 49 points in the second half to ease to the victory. John Gunn (193-SG-00) notched 17 points and 15 rebounds for Panama. Zion Jones (187-G-00) answered with 13 points for Virgin Islands. |
