LA U celebrate LPBF title - Dec 8, 2022

LA U - Leonas 90-76

LA U clinched LPBF title. They overcame Leonas in Game 2 of the championship series to complete the sweep. LA U dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Leonas' 42. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Leonas' players. The best player for the winners was swingman Diobelis Batista (167-2005) who had a double-double by scoring 25 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. Venezuelan guard Crismar Rojas chipped in 26 points and 9 rebounds. Center Marie Hernandez (178) produced a double-double by scoring 13 points and 14 rebounds and Laili Renteria added 23 points respectively for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
