Other members of the City Council team also stepped up as Atlantic Bank continued to hold Kenroy 'MVP' Usher on a tight leash, to give the edge to City Council in game 2.
The Belize City Council team was able to adjust after the lost in game 1. Will the Atlantic Bank team be able to adjust as well and solidify their claim as #1, or will the City Council team once again upset yet another team to steal the #1 title.

Belize Bank Benguche Survives Express Scare The senior division match-up featured Belize Bank Benguche against the much maligned Valley Express squad. Express desire to win had been questioned all season and facing the team that gave them a 30 point lesson, back on June 13th, didnt seem like the path they would have preferred. Nonetheless, Valley laced up their shoes tightly and came ready to play. Trailing by 4 after the first quarter, Express fought back to take the second quarter by 3 to settle for a 31-30 halftime score. Valley had a balanced attack all night, Leon Gentle finished with 10pts, Alex Romero with 11, Hansel Casimiro with 13, Darwin Lino with 11 and Stephen Baizer with 9. They seemed to be the first team to figure out the Benguche press and took a slim 4-point lead with little over a minute to play. Benguche, however, would not be denied and their stars made sure of it making key plays and hitting late free throws to seal the 65-62 win. Darwin Leslie (191-F/G-81) scored 10 4th quarter points, including 4-4 at the line in the final minute. He had 16pts in the second half and totaled a game high 22, along with 8rebs, 3asts, and 3stls. Earl Johnson (188-F) had key second half buckets as well, on his way to 16pts, 8rebs. Leon Williams (203-C), contributed 9pts, 8rebs, and 4 big blocked shots. Steadying the effort for Benguche was Tyrone Castillo (183-G-84) with 6 assists and 4 steals to go with 8pts and 6rebs. Belize Bank Benguche moves on to face Wamada TRIP in the final, while Valley Express will face BWEL Flames in the third place match.
