Young, who guided Trinidad & Tobago to an overtime victory against Puerto Rico at the 2010 Centrobasket Championships, is one of the most experienced players at Guaynabo. He has a reputation as being one of team's most reliable players.

Meanwhile over in Japan, 6-9 power foward Julius Ashby scored a double double 23pts & 14rebs as Shiga Lakestars defeated Fukuoka Rizing 96-86 in the Japanese men BJ league on May 5. Ashby, who having an outstanding season, helped Shiga improved to 33-19. With the win Shiga are in 4th position in the Western division standings.
Over in Tawian, national team co-captain 6-10 Kibwe Trim had a big game with 25pts & 17rebs. But Tawian Beer still lost a close 69-71 game to Dacin Tigers on May 1 in the SBL semi-finals. With the loss Taiwan Beer was eliminated 4-3 in the best of seven series. While Tigers will move on to play Pure Youth in the finals.

We bring you last week's top performances from Trinidad and Tobagos who are playing abroad and who all have had prior experience of national team duties at youth or senior level.
#1. This week's number one is former international forward DeVaughn Lamont (208-84, college: CS Monterey), who plays in the Venezuelan LPB. He could not help one of league's weakest teams Toros (6-28) in their last game. Despite Lamont's very good performance the bottom-ranked Toros lost 86-92 at home to the one of league's weakest teams (#9) Panteras.
He was the top scorer with 29 points. Lamont also added 8 rebounds in 27 minutes on the court.
There are only two games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical.
Lamont has relatively good stats this year: 14.9ppg, 6.5rpg, 1.1spg in the eight games he played so far.
He played for the Trinidad and Tobago senior national team two years ago.
#2. Second place goes to former international power forward Julius Ashby (205-82, college: Colorado). Ashby was the major contributor in a Shiga L-Stars' victory against the fifth-ranked Fukuoka Rizing (29-18) crushing them 103-79 in the Japanese BJ League last Sunday.
He recorded a double-double by scoring 18 points and getting 12 rebounds.
Shiga Lakestars (31-16) are placed third in Western group.
It was his team's seventh consecutive victory in a row.
It's Ashby's first season with the team.
This year Ashby has relatively solid stats: 11.9ppg, 7.3rpg, 1.2apg, 2FGP: 50.6% and FT: 63.0%.
He played for the Trinidad and Tobago national team in 2010.
#3. The Trinidad and Tobago player who performed third best last week abroad was former international guard Leo Westermann (198-92, agency: Beo Basket). Westermann was not able to help ASVEL (11-15) in their game against JDA Dijon (12-14) in the French ProA.
He scored 6 points, grabbed 5 boards, dished 7 assists and stole 3 balls in 39 minutes.
ASVEL lost 71-84 on the road to the higher-ranked (#10) JDA Dijon.
There are only four games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game is very crucial.
This year Westermann's overall stats are: 8.6ppg, 2.4rpg, 3.2apg, 2FGP: 53.3%, 3FGP: 34.2% and FT: 78.2% in the 25 games.
He has a dual citizenship: Trinidad and Tobago and French.
Despite Westermann played previously for the French U20 national team, he played also for the Trinidad and Tobago national team in 2010.
#4. Power forward Kibwe Trim (208-84, agency: Top Notch Sports, college: Sacred Heart) led Taiwan Beer to a victory against the league leader Pure Youth (21-8) 79-75 in the Taiwanese SBL in Saturday night's game.
Trim recorded 12 points and grabbed 9 rebounds.
It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. TTL Taiwan Beer (17-12) is placed second in the SBL.
It was his team's sixth consecutive victory in a row.
They will play only one more game in the Regular Season. And now that game is quite important.
Trim is currently fourth on the list of top scorers and also on the list of best rebounders (sixth place).
He has individually a very good season with high stats. Trim averages: 17.0ppg and 11.2rpg.
Despite he played previously for the French national team, Trim is currently in the Trinidad and Tobago national team roster.
