Dominican Republic earned the first win at the Olympic Qualifying Tournament in Caracas. They overcame South Korea in Group C. Alfred Horford (208-F/C-86, college: Florida) came up with 30 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the effort.
South Korea had their backs against the wall heading into the game. With the loss in the starting game South Korea surged ahead in this one. They eked out a 19:17 lead ten minutes into the encounter. The Asian team maintained the advantage throughout the second frame. They secured a 41:37 halftime lead. Dominican Republic answered with a scoring spree in the third quarter. Led by Alfred Horford Dominican Republic unleashed 34 points and secured a 6-point advantage heading into the fourth frame. They dropped 24 points in the final quarter and sealed the victory at the end. Jack Michael Martinez (201-F-81, agency: Paris Global Sports) finished with 16 points and 25 rebounds, while Francisco Garcia (201-F/G-81, college: Louisville) added 13 points for the winners. Sandrin Eric (206-C/F-78, college: Seattle Pacific) answered with 21 points for South Korea. Kim Sung-Hyun (190-G/F-80) tallied 14 points in the loss.

Bameso clinch top position in Group A of District Nacional - May 22, 2013

Bameso claimed the fifth win in the District Nacional tournament. They fired past San Lazaro 89:75 to secure the top position in Group A. San Lazaro fell at 3-4 record after the loss.
