Obras - Uniceub/BRB 73-51 Obras handed 73-51 loss to Uniceub/BRB on Friday winning the Group B of Liga Sudamericana hexagonal finals. Obras ended this stage with 2-0, while Uniceub/BRB has 1-1. Both teams advanced to the Semifinals, where Obras will meet Atenas. The defending champion will play against Pinheiros/Sky. Tyler Field (206-F/C-78, college: San Diego) top-scored for the winners with 18 points. Pablo Espinoza (195-F-87) had 14 points and 7 rebounds, while Alexis Elsener (196-G-88) (6 rebs) and Alejandro Konsztatd (190-G-89) helped their team with 7 points each. Uniceub/BRB didn't have anyone with double-digits in scoring. Their best players were Alex Ribeiro (191-G-80, agency: Interperformances) (5 rebs) and Arthur Silva (199-F/G-82) with 8 points each. The Uruguayan squad dropped to 0-2 and failed to reach the next stage. Uniceub BRB and Obras advanced, but their todays game will give us an answer who will be the winner of this pool. Arthur Silva (199-F/G-82) stepped up for Uniceub BRB yesterday with 23 points and 7 rebounds. Alex Ribeiro (191-G-80, agency: Interperformances)had 20 points and 5 rebs, while Guilherme Giovannoni (202-F-80, agency: Interperformances) helped his team with 19 points. Obras - Malvin 89-59 Perfect start of the Liga Sudamericana hexagonal finals for Obras. The Argentinean squad was too strong for Malvin registering 89-59 victory. Both teams are placed to Group B, together with defending champion Uniceub BRB. Two best teams from this pool will book a spot for the Semifinals. Julio Mazzaro (190-G-79) and Darren Fells (201-F/C-86, college: Cal-Irvine) led the winners with 15 points each. Pablo Espinoza (195-F-87) was behind them with 13 points and 5 rebounds. At the other side, Nicolas Borsellino (202-F-86) shined with 13 points and 10 boards. Bruno Fitipaldo (183-PG-91) and Anthony Myles (208-F/C-82, agency: KMG Sports Management, college: Xavier) (7 rebs) scored 11 and 10 points respectively. Obras took control on Malvin from the beginning and never looked back. Quarters: 21-14, 19-11, 30-14, 19-20. Obras will take a rest today. Malvin will meet Uniceub BRB in do-or-die game.
