Our best Center will finally play for Olimpia de Asuncion the rest of the season. The so called done deal with Espartanos from Venezuela never got concluded, tickets never came and Guillermo Araujo (204-C-82) decided to stay in Olimpia de Asuncion where he just had an outstanding season becoming MVP of the TOP 5 METRO.Araujo told us he had a very good offer from Espartanos, the first deal was going to be a full 2 months contract with a possible extension to february 2011

Araujo told us he had a very good offer from Espartanos, the first deal was going to be a full 2 months contract with a possible extension to february 2011. He was eager to travel, while visiting him he had all suitcases ready but for unknown reasons yet Espartano`s did not send tickets on time.
Many of Olimpia de Asuncion`s fans are already cheering up because of Guillermo`s decision and are expecting him to help them win the precious NATIONAL LEAGUE. The coaching staff led by Christian Viveros also is very happy due to the lack of Paraguayan centers. Now he is optimistic about Olimpia de Asuncion`s chances.

Club 9 De Julio signed a contract with Bruno Zanotti (197-F-82, college: Merrimack) . Bruno has just finished participating with Paraguayan National team in Colombia`s South American Championship among nations finishing 5th. He averaged 13.8 points, 4.6 boards and 3.4 assists per game. Paraguay also played at the SUPER 4 CUP in Mendoza finishing 3rd after beating Brasil, a team not beaten by Paraguay for more han 4 decades. Bruno played last LNA season for Regatas Corrientes

Club 9 De Julio signed a contract with Bruno Zanotti (197-F-82, college: Merrimack) . After being cut in March 2010 Bruno Zanotti left the team to join Libertad to play the TOP 5 METRO in Asuncion where he won the 2nd straight title with Libertad, and also played the Liga Sudamericana, the forward averaged 6.7 points, 4.3 boards and 2.3 assists per appearance.
Bruno left Libertad, 74th metro last champion just about when Paraguayan National League is about to start. Libertad will have to reinforce its forward position with a foreigner or pinching the few pure forwards left in our local competition.

Espartanos from Venezuelan league has confirmed its participation at the LIGA DE LAS AMERICAS CUP.
Guillermo Araujo (204-C-82) our paraguayan most important Center from last decade has signed with them a deal including 3 tournaments. The Liga Sudamericana Cup, the Liga de las Americas and the Premier League including USA teams.
Guillermo had an outstanding performance at the recently finished South American Championship in Colombia ending 5th after a long period of time with Paraguay and also participating at the SUPER 4 CUP in Mendoza, Argentina, finishing 3rd after beating Brasil.
Pedro Castillo , Espartano`s president said they are planning to play 50 games in next 6 months. Araujo`s presence will power up Espartano`s front line. The deal is for 2010 and 2011 seasons.
