Donta Smith
Donta Smith (201-G-83, college: SE Illinois JC) will continue his career in Mexico. The American guard penned a deal with Fuerza Regia for rest of the LNBP season. He already made debut in the league last weekend. Smith had 8 points, 8 rebounds and 2 assists, while Fuerza Regia lost against Halcones Rojos on the road 66-69. Donta Smith spent last season in China as a member of Liaoning Panpan Hunters. He averaged 15.1 points, 4.2 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 2.2 steals for 19 games in CBA. This year Smith helped Marinos de Anzoategui to win Venezuelan LPB title. He played in Venezuela in 2010 as well. At that time he was a member of Espartanos de Margarita. Donta Smith also has experience from NBA, NBA D-League, Puerto Rico, Australia and Bulgaria.

The 24-year old player had a double-double of 12 points and 21 rebounds, while his team beat Venados (#7, 5-7) 111-103. AKEEM SCOTT 35-year old shooting guard Akeem Scott (185-SG-83) had a very impressive game in the last round for Venados and receives a Interperformances Player of the Week award for round 5. He had the game-high 35 points adding five rebounds and five assists for Venados in his team's victory, helping them to edge out Tijuana (#1, 8-4) 93-90. Here is the last round review presented by ESL. The most exciting game of round 6 in the CIBACOPA took place in Ciudad Obregon.
