Goes Montevideo (Metropolitan) inked 32-year old forward Omar Galeano (199-81kg-81). It is actually his comeback to Montevideo as he played here before. Galeano started the season at Olimpia (LUB). In 39 games he averaged 9.7ppg, 4.3rpg, 2.4apg and 1.0spg this season. He ended the last season at Plaza (LUB). In 10 games he had 9.0ppg, 6.3rpg and 2.0apg. He helped them to end the regular season as a second best team in Uruguay LUB South Division. But the most of that year Galeano spent at Olimpia (LUB). In 27 games he had 7.2ppg, 4.0rpg and 2.0apg. Galeano has played previously for three other Uruguay teams: Cordon, Bohemios and Capitol.

Chile clinched 5th position at the FIBA Americas U16 Championship. The team won over the hosts, Uruguay 66:65 in the last game and sent the hosts a step lower. Both teams scored 13 points each in the opening period and stayed close for the majority of the game. Chile needed a 13-12 rally in the second frame to take 1-point advantage at the halftime. Uruguay however looked better in the third period and managed to respond with a 23-18 surge, but Chile managed to win the game. Dante Bahamonde scored the two to seal the victory for Chile, 66:65. Nicolas Aguirre (176-PG-97) was unstoppable with 33 points and Dante Bahamonde (174-G-96) added 14. Sebastian Herrera (190-SF-97) and Diego Low (190-SF-97) finished the game with 6 points each. Facundo Grolla (193-C-97) replied with 25 points and 13 rebounds, whilst Martin Counago (185-PG-96) had 17. Agustin Viotti (190-SF-97) delivered 10 and Federico Baltasar (185-PG-96) brought 7.
