Orlando Zuniga (192-G-82) filled out the stat sheet with 14 points, 7 rebounds, and 7 assists. Marco Valenzuela (185-G-81), who kept the Trigueros in the game on Friday night with 7 triples, only connected on 1-10 Saturday but made some shots in the lane and at the line and finished with 13. West is the top scorer in the league averaging 32.5ppg and 8.5rpg thru 2 games.
Guaymas 93 - Hermosillo 101 (Double Overtime) The second overtime decided the outcome as Guaymas fell to 0-2 on the season, dropping the 2nd of a home and away set with the Rayos. Guaymas came close twice, once in regulation and again in the initial overtime to winning the game. Aided on the evening by Scott Rodgers (191-G, college: Drexel) who had 35 points and 8 rebounds. Jerome Habel (208-F-85, college: San Diego St.) came up big again with 27 points, 15 rebounds, and 4 blocks. National Team member Jorge Rochin (202-F-78, agency: Edge Sports, college: Portland) was strong inside with 22 points and 14 rebounds but it wasn't enough as a 14-6 score in the second extension favored Hermosillo. For the Rayos, Lorenzo Wade (198-F-86, agency: Interperformances, college: San Diego St.) played all 40 minutes plus both overtimes and had 38/9/7. David Berghoefer (208-C-83, agency: Interperformances, college: W.Carolina) was large in the paint with 23/16 for the winners. With the win, Hermosillo moves to 2-0 on the season.

Danny Brown (193-G) had 22/11 while Alan Cortez (175-G-88) and Patricio Garcia (182-G-76) had 10 and 12 respectively. For the Coras, a hard charge down the final 20 minutes of play got the game within striking distance but just couldn't do enough to even the series. Keoni Watson had 24/9 while Cristopher Silva (201-C-82) had 21/10. Luis Gonzalez (183-G-81) had an excellent all around game with 13 points, 6 rebounds, and 7 assists while Chad Ferguson (203-F-84, college: Co.Carolina) had a double-double with 15 and 10.
Guasave 80 - Culiacan 85 After suffering a tough loss on the road Friday night to rival Caballeros, the Frayles were looking to even the series at home. Ramses Benitez (210-C-79) was a monster on the box with 25 points and 20 rebounds for the home team. Serge Angounou (202-F-83, college: Arizona St.) had 21 and 10 but suffered 8 turnovers. Jesus Lopez (205-F-83, college: SW Baptist) had 10. A 42-29 rebound advantage, due in big part to 'Lulo' Benitez kept Guasave in the game but it wasn't enough as Culiacan holds on the win and takes the opening set 2 games to 0.
Nogales 85 - Cananea 102 Cananea was at home on Saturday night and had big games from Letheal Cook (208-C/F-80, college: Bowie St.) who had 25 points and 16 rebounds for the defending champions.
